About Newport Harbor

Structure
Newport Harbor Recovery was designed to provide structured residential treatment for persons, ages eighteen and over, with alcohol and/or drug problems.
Such problems may be of legal nature, family, or personal and indicate a need to learn a new way of life free of alcohol and drugs.
Group and individual counseling sessions are available to educate and motivate clients to modify their behavior and thinking to achieve sobriety.
The primary goal of Newport Harbor Recovery is to provide the foundation upon which a person may build a healthy and sober lifestyle.
Recovery
Through daily recovery group activities, clients will be educated in behavior modification, anger management, relapse prevention, communication skill, and education of the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous.

Newport Harbor Recovery
Treatment
Treatment at Newport Harbor Recovery is individualized, a process developed from a range of components:
- Substance Abuse Evaluation and Participant Evaluation- At the time of referral and/or admission, a staff member will meet with a new client to assess the clients history of drug use and to assess the clients need for the services of Newport Harbor Recovery.
- Medical History/Health Questionnaire – Clients are required to report their medical history and condition to determine appropriate participation levels in the program and for possible referral to address medical conditions that may interfere with treatment.
- Individual Counseling – Counseling may be provided by any staff member of Newport Harbor Recovery Services. Individual counseling sessions include case management sessions as well as therapeutic sessions with a licensed clinician.
- Social Model Recovery Group Counseling/Substance Abuse Education Groups and Relapse Prevention – Conducted by Newport Harbor Recovery staff to assist clients in the goals of reflection, education and planning.
- Process Groups – Conducted by a licensed clinician to facilitate the integration of the program components for each client.
- The following services are offered as needed for the fulfillment of each client’s individual treatment plan:
